Xlite™

Our new  range of materials  have been specifically developed for electric, hybrid and lightweight vehicles.  These materials are extremly high acoustic absorbers with very minimal weight (up to 70% weight reduction in some applications).  The technology works by using its mis-match of coarse and micro-fibre structures to allow the product to absorb high levels of sound across all frequency ranges. 

Typical application areas

Interior trim including instrument panels, doors, pillars, headlinings and luggage sides and under-floor.  Also suitable for engine bay and bulkhead insulation in combination with AUT-INS™ H-Series cover materials.

Material Characteristics

  • Weight: Ranging from 295g/m² to 1350g/m² - Dependant upon application
  • Thickness: Ranging from 6mm to 50mm – Dependant upon application 
  • Composition: Predominantly polyester and polypropylene mix
  • Colour: White with various cover material options
  • Flammability: Meets FMVSS 302
  • Typical temperature stability: up to 90°C – some variants are capable of much higher
