AUT-INS™ D-Series Rubber Matting

AUT-INS™ D-Series Rubber matting products are predominantly used as acoustic damping pads and barriers, usually in combination with acoustic absorbers such as polyester wadding, non-woven polypropylenes and Thinsulate™ Acoustic Insulation.  However with increasing demand for exterior dampening materials, cured EPDM formulations are available within the range and these can be tailored to suit many specifications and applications including high temperature engine bay areas and certain specifications for UV and thermal stability.

Material Characteristics

  • Weight: Ranging from 2Kg to/m² 10Kg/m² - more weights available
  • Thickness: Ranging from 1.5mm to 6mm – more thicknesses available
  • Composition: Varies acording to grade (predominantly EPDM based.)
  • Colour: Dark Grey or Black
  • Flammability: Meets FMVSS 302 (above 2kg/m²)
  • Typical temperature stability: –Internal materials +80°C  - Exterior products meet higher temperatures

Special Characteristics

  • Mouldable
  • Excellent damping and transmission loss capabilities
  • Can be folded to take 3D geometry whilst keeping tooling costs to a minimum
